British Columbia is a Canadian province, and constitutes about half of the land area of Cascadia. With the exception of a small piece of the Yukon Territory, all of the Canadian portion of Cascadia is located within British Columbia. The extreme north-eastern portion of British Columbia lies outside of bioregional Cascadia in the Mackenzie and Yukon watersheds. British Columbia contains Vancouver Island, the Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands), nearly the entire Fraser watershed, the middle and upper Okanogan, upper Columbia, the lower and upper Kootenay, and all but some of the coastal portions of the northern coastal watersheds, such as the Bella Coola, Stikine and Skeena Rivers.
